BI has recently released a new regulation, PBI 17/2015, that requires every transaction within Indonesian territory be made in Rupiah. Transaction means both cash and non-cash transactions which includes any transactions and other obligation settlements which must be fulfilled with money. However, some transactions can still be exempted from this regulation such as international trade transaction, bank savings in foreign currencies, and several other uses. Jakarta government to install up to 4,000 CCTV cameras across town, and connect them to the national database of ID cards (KTP). This move was initiated after the recent CCTV footage that helped the safe return of a child abducted from a shopping centre in Cililitan, East Jakarta. The city will prioritize crime-prone areas, and expect 2,000 of the CCTVs will already be installed by the end of this year, This week Asia’s biggest pop culture convention, Popcon Asia 2015, will be held in Jakarta from 7 to 9 August 2015. Having been held in Jakarta since 2012, the event aims to be a hub for professionals, artists, and creators focusing on comics, games, toys, films, and animation. This event will be attended by participants from various countries in Asia and the world.
From 4th to 7th August 2015, there’s also the MTT Expo 2015, the 7th specialized exhibition on machinery, metal works, precision tooling, automotive engineering, and related technologies in Indonesia.
